Selecting a Look and Feel template
vFlyer supports both standard and custom look and feel templates that give your flyer a professional and/or distinct look and feel. You will find a list of all currently available templates in the Template section of Edit Flyer. To select one, simply click on it and thumbnail of the template will appear on the right.
The vFlyer Theme Editor enables you to create your own custom design themes to use in your Flyers. To get started with creating a custom theme, click the Themes tab.
Once you are on the Themes page, click the Create a Theme button. On the following page, click the More Customization Options link. This will take you to the Theme Editor.
At the top of the Theme Editor, you will see various tabs. Each tab refers to a particular section of the Flyer. By default, the Theme Editor begins with the Page tab. Here you can choose from our selection of background images, set as the Flyer background and page background a solid color, or upload an image of your own as the background image.
To the left of the Page tab is the Basic tab, where you can enter a name and description for your custom theme. Assigning a name to your custom theme can help you identify it, especially if you have multiple custom themes.
To the right of the Page tab is the Title tab. Click this tab to customize the size, font, color, weight, and alignment of the Flyer title. You can also choose a title background color.
Next, the Main tab controls the description text. Again, by clicking the Main tab, you can set the size, font, color, weight, and alignment of the description text in the Flyer.
The next two tabs to the right, Narrow and Wide, control the narrow column on the left side of the Flyer, which includes contact information, pricing, and location information, and the wide column on the right, which includes features and attributes. For each of these tabs, there are three sections: Title, Subtitle, and Text. Title refers to the section titles. For example, “Features” is a section title in the wide column. Subtitle refers to the section subtitles. In the narrow column, for example, the subtitles are “Contact Information” and “Pricing”. Text refers to the text you enter in each section. In the wide column, for instance, the features and attributes all fall under the “Text” category. For each of these three sections, you can set the size, font, color, and weight; for Title and Subtitle, you can also set the alignment of each.
The Disclaimer tab refers to the disclaimer at the bottom of the Flyer. By default, the disclaimer is set to, “All information in this site is deemed reliable but is not guaranteed and is subject to change.” You have the option of entering a new disclaimer by typing it into the Disclaimer Text field. As with the other tabs, you can set the size, font, color, and weight of the disclaimer text.
Finally, the Branded Header tab refers to the header of your custom theme. Any vFlyer member at the vFlyer Starter level or above can either upload a header image or type a text header in the Theme Editor and then apply it to his or her Flyers. (vFlyer Personal users can upload header images, but they will not appear on their Flyers.) To upload a header image, click the Custom link, then click the Browse button, choose the image you want to upload, and click Upload. The header image will appear instantly. The ideal dimensions for an uploaded header image are 754 x 82 pixels.
To add a text header to your custom theme, click the Text link and type the text you want to appear in the header in the Text field. Again, you can set the size, font, color, and weight of the text header.
Once you have created a custom theme that you want to use in your Flyers, click Save Theme. To apply a custom theme to your Flyers, you’ll first need to create a new Flyer by clicking the Flyers tab, selecting the appropriate product category from the drop-down menu, and clicking Create. Once you are in the Flyer Editor and have added content to it, you can apply your custom theme by scrolling down to the Template (Look and Feel) section, clicking the radio button labeled Custom, and selecting your custom theme . Once you’ve done this, continue creating your Flyer.
If you need a template with special branding or design requirements or would like us to design a custom template for you, please contact sales@vflyer.com. This option is only available to paid subscribers and involves a one-time design fee for the service.
